Sound engines and generation
The Kronos 2 is built with Korg’s renowned sound engines that can be used independently or together for complex layering.
- SGX-2 Premium Piano: Features massive, non-looped stereo samples, sympathetic string resonance, and una corda (soft pedal) samples. Includes German, Japanese, and Berlin grand pianos.
- EP-1 MDS Electric Piano: Offers multi-dimensional synthesis for classic electric piano tones and vintage effects.
- CX-3 Tonewheel Organ: Models a classic tonewheel organ with realistic rotary speaker effects.
- HD-1 High Definition Synthesizer: A PCM synthesis engine that includes wave sequencing and large, unlooped samples streamed from the internal SSD.
- MS-20EX: An enhanced analog modeling of the classic Korg MS-20 semi-modular synthesizer.
- PolysixEX: An upgraded version of the vintage Korg Polysix analog synthesizer.
- AL-1 Analog Synthesizer: High-fidelity analog modeling with a wide range of waveforms and filters.
- MOD-7 Waveshaping VPM Synthesizer: Combines VPM (Variable Phase Modulation), waveshaping, and ring modulation.
